Connecting via OpenVPN

OpenVPN is the most popular protocol, which is not inferior to the alternative protocols IKEv2 and L2TP.

For the Mac OS system, there are two types of applications: free through Tunnelblick and paid Viscosity.

We will describe two configuration options, first for the free Tunnelblick application.

Configuration

  1. First, you need to download Tunnelblick from the official website (make sure to choose the version that matches your system version).
  2. Next, you need to download the archive with servers in your personal account. Enter your code, select Computer > Mac OS > OpenVPN TCP or UDP (the differences between these protocols are described in your personal account) and click Download.
  3. In the archive you will find a folder «mac» which contains files with a list of servers.
  4. Select the servers you need and run them one by one by double-clicking.

Connecting to VPN

  1. Launch Tunnelblick. After launching, the icon will appear in the upper right corner (next to the clock).
  2. Select the desired server and click Connect.
  3. Within 15-20 seconds, the program should successfully connect, and your IP address will change.

If you did everything correctly, open a page in your browser and check if the IP address has changed. If the IP address has changed, then you did everything correctly and the VPN is working properly.

Viscosity

If for some reason your IP address has not changed, send us the connection log or use the alternative Viscosity program.

Viscosity is a paid application that is easier to set up and use than Tunnelblick.

To configure Viscosity:

  1. Download and install Viscosity from the official website.
  2. Purchase a Viscosity license.
  3. Download the archive with servers in your personal account. Enter your code, select Computer > Mac OS > OpenVPN TCP or UDP (the differences between these protocols are described in your personal account) and click Download.
  4. In the archive you will find a folder «viscosity» which contains files with a list of servers.
  5. Import the desired server into Viscosity.
  6. Enter your login and password in the Viscosity window.
  7. Click Connect.

After connecting, open a page in your browser and check if the IP address has changed. If the IP address has changed, then you did everything correctly and the VPN is working properly.
If you have any difficulties connecting to the VPN, please contact our support team.
